Giving Thanks!

Well, the insanity that is the week of CTN-X is officially over. It was an overwhelming week of fun, and I want to thank everyone who came out to say hello - you make it a blast every year!

Now that the craziness has subsided a bit, I wanted to do a little update on this year's Calendar Girls! I've been getting some questions on when and where they will be for sale, so I will do my best to address those questions here!

First off, for those of you who may be new to this blog, the Calendar Girls were an experimental project that David and I started last year, and we got such great feedback that we decided to take it even further this year. The concept is simple: A monthly desk calendar that is basically a paper doll. The stand is made from maple plywood in the form of a girl, and every new month is a page with a different outfit. While all of the pages are the same for each calendar, each stand/girl is hand stained, painted, and completely unique.

Last year we decided to start with an edition of 100, and those went so quickly that this year we have opened the edition up to 200 girls. The class of 2015, if you will.  They are all hand numbered, signed, and ready to go!

Also new this year is the refill pack, which we have cheekily titled The Wardrobe. These refill packs are for all of you fantastic folks who picked up calendars last year and would like to give your girls an update for this year.

The 2015 set of girls debuted at CTN-X over the weekend, and received a great response. There are still plenty left over, though, so I would love to start making them available to everyone via the magic of the internet! Over the course of the next few weeks (leading up to Christmas) I will be releasing batches of Calendar Girls (between 10 and 30 at a time) in my shop until I run out. I will be releasing the first batch this Friday, November 28th at 10am PST. So set your calendars and your clocks! I will also be listing the refill packs at the same time, so you should have plenty of time to prep your girls for the New Year! There will be future updates on the next rounds of listings, so make sure you are following here, on twitter, and on Instagram to stay up-to-date!

Last but not least, I want to give thanks to all of you who support my posts here, and for all of your awesomeness. I am able to do what I love to do because of the encouragement that I receive from all of you, and for that I could not be more grateful. In honor of the holidays and good things in general, we are going to run a holiday sale in the shop through Sunday. Everything in the shop will be 10% off - just use the coupon code GIVETHANKS at checkout.

Have a happy and safe holiday everyone!

Lovely at Center Stage Gallery and CTN-X

There are a few special times every year when I feel like a complete and total crazy person - this week, known as "CTN-Expo Week" is one of those times. I wanted to make sure, though, with all of the prepping and craziness, that I took a moment to update this little space to let everyone know about all of the exciting things that make this week so crazy (in a good way!) So here goes!

Lovely Panel, Signing, and Show Opening at the Center Stage Gallery
Thursday, November 20th
Round table discussion at 5pm, book signing and reception to follow

I'm so happy to say that the Lovely girls are getting together one more time to chat and open the first and only American version of the Gallerie Arludik show from this past June! All six of us will be in attendance on Thursday night, and we will partake in a roundtable discussion moderated by the one and only Mr. Mike Gabriel! I think this is the official opening of the CTN-Expo -lots of new original artwork and there will be shuttles running back and forth to the gallery from the convention hall all weekend. If you are in town, you should definitely stop by!

The CTN-Expo

Friday-Sunday

It is that time again! I will be set up very near to my usual spot (close to the front doors) at the CTN-Expo at the Burbank Marriott. In addition to my usual haul of prints and books, I will be debuting the first batch of 2015 Calendar Girls and Calendar Girl Refill packs! I will probably be bringing a limited number of Calendar Girls with me to the show each day, so try to swing by my table early if you are interested!

And for everyone who can't make it to LA but would still like a Calendar Girl - I have good news! We have a larger edition (of 200) this year, and will most likely be putting nearly half of them up in the shop before the holidays!  I'm thinking that thew will be going up in batches, but I will flesh out that plan and post more on it soon. For now, just know that they are coming!

I hope to see many friendly faces (both new and old) at the expo this weekend! If you plan to attend, I will apologize in advance for being at all "off". So far this week, forgetting what day it is, not knowing my current location, and losing my thoughts in the middle of a sentence have been alarmingly common occurrences, and while I will try to remedy that before Friday, just be warned.

Hope to see you all soon! Have a lovely week!

Magic

Hello? Anybody there?

I completely understand if the answer is no and I am speaking to vast amounts of nothing and nobody, because I majorly fell of the wagon of regular posting. Life (as seems to often be the case) happens, and it is not very considerate of my strict blogging schedule.

In the off-chance that there is someone still checking this little space, I do have a rather fun update today! I was recently invited by the Wonderground Gallery in Downtown Disneyland to create an exclusive piece of artwork based on Frozen, and the piece above (titled "Magic") is a peek at the final result. You can see the full, tall version below - clearly, I just can't get enough of these two.

I will be down at the gallery on Saturday, November 8th from 4-6pm for the release of the artwork (there will be a one-of-a-kind embellished print, special edition canvas prints, matted prints, and more available) and I will be signing artwork while I'm there!

As far as I know, this piece will ONLY be available through the Wonderground Gallery in Downtown Disneyland for the time being. If you are not able to make it to the event on Saturday and would like to buy artwork, you can place an order by e-mailing Merchandise Guest Services at merchandise.guest.services@disneyparks.com or call Merchandise Guest Services at 877-560-6477 (select option 2 for prints.) Leave a voicemail if they don't answer. Wonderground Gallery is located in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA.

I am really looking forward to Saturday! Here's wishing you all a lovely week and I hope to see some of you this weekend at the happiest place on Earth!
